We are committed to only using organic fabrics. We’re plastic-free, and we use reusable and recyclable packaging made from 100% recycled paper. We sweat the details of every link in our supply chain.
Made to Last
Blue Orka baby blankets and sleep sacks are made from the highest quality, most luxurious and softest cotton for the best snuggles. They wear well and can survive many washings, which is why we’ve started Blue Okra Swap where you can return your used items for future credit, and new customers can save money by buying pre-loved, reusing and recycling.
Made in the USA or Fair Trade (You Choose!)
Our USA made products are designed in-house, sewn locally, and hand-dyed here in California. We are striving to ensure that fair labor is used at every step in the process. Our receiving blankets are made from GOTSTM certified organic Turkish cotton, printed sustainably and sewn by an ethical sewing house in Thailand. We’ve visited them and checked out the working conditions ourselves.
Ethical, snuggly and safe
And sleep well
Derived from the root verb “shiboru” – “to wring, squeeze or press” – Shibori is a Japanese resist dyeing technique that is done by hand.
Itajime shibori is a shaped-resist technique. Traditionally, the cloth is sandwiched between two pieces of wood, which are held in place with string.
